Let me just say that the braintrust should never give up on a pitcher that has heart. Heart is 1 thing you can not get from eating Wheaties. Now, it was about 10 years ago that the Kansas City club give up on Tom Gordon after bringing him in for a try out in the spring. After he threw 10 pitches, the braintrust said he was too old. That was about 1,000,000 curveball's ago. Today, he is still better than about 1 half of all the pitchers that have stood in their bullpen since then.
